The designed building is a reconstruction and revitalization of historic granaries: “Mały Groddeck” i “Duży Groddeck”. The reconstruction of the existing granaries consists in their adaptation to a hotel building with independent service premises on the ground floor. The project assumes the maximum intrusion allowed by the conservator inside the buildings, enabling compliance with the provisions of the regulations in terms of fire and utility, as well as in terms of construction safety.
The extension of the granaries from the north and south side consists of an extension with the same function as the one designed inside the granaries. The building consists of three parts: the Northern part - referred to as Part A, Part B (granary buildings) and the Southern part, called Part C.
Part A is a building with 9 above-ground storeys (including the ground floor). Vertical communication in the building is provided by two staircases and three lifts (including one for the staff).
Part B is a building with 7 above-ground storeys. The building has no basement. Vertical communication in the building is provided by two staircases and two lifts.
Part C a building with 8 above-ground storeys. The building has a partial basement. Vertical communication in the building is provided by one staircase and two elevators.
